Ms. Sauls has a bachelors degree in Biology from Meredith College and teaching certification from UNC-Wilmington.

I have been an educator for over 20 years; part of the time I was a classroom teacher and part of the time a Coastal Educator, leading teacher workshops and field trips to coastal habitats, especially salt marshes.

I am a native of NC, but I grew up inland.  I have lived on 5 islands along the NC coast, and have been on all of them except 1.  I also like to visit islands when traveling/on vacation.  Some favorites include Iceland, Vancover Island, Cape Romain, Jamacia and Cozumel.

When I grow up I want to be a race car driver.

I have my own skiff and when the weather is not nice enough to go out (hunting seashells if I am luck), I enjoy reading (fav authors are Tom Clancy and Clive Cussler), crocheting and hanging out in a hammock.
