The boys team finished 9th overall out of 23 teams

*Liam Anderson finished first for our team with a time of 16:48.  Liam was recognized as an All Region Runner with his 10th place finish.  Liam also qualified individually for the State Championships.  Liam is the first 3A male runner to earn All Region and the only 3A male to qualify for the State Championships.

* Travis McMillion finished with his season best time of 18:06.

*Finishing only one second apart was Daniel Sutton 18:23 and Aaron Marshall 18:24.

*Our 5th runner was freshman Zachary Berry finishing  with a record best time of 19:25 (15 secs better than his previous best).

*Zachary Marland was our 6th runner finishing with a 20:26.

*Coming off of an injury and stepping in for us at the Regional meet was freshman Justin Hutchinson.  He finished in a time of 21:06.  This was 30 second personal best time for him.

Girls:  The girls were ranked 3rd and finished 3rd.  Even though we finished 3rd it wasn't clear until the results were announced.    With all the runners in between our 5th and 6th scoring runner it was really difficult to tell if we would finish in the top 4 or not.  When the 5th place team was announced the stands where Swansboro was sitting erupted in cheers because we knew we where in.

*Paige Horvath finished 3rd overall and received All Region Honors.  She finished in a near season best time of 19:57.

*Next was Sophia Brown she finished with her season best time of 20:49.

*Not even a second behind Sophia was Alyssa Koscierzynski finishing in 20:49:26.

*Finishing 4th on the team was Madisen Thompsen finishing in a season best time by almost 30 seconds.  She finished with a 21:09.

* Our 5th runner was Regan Moore finishing in her best time by almost 30 seconds when she crossed the line in 22:46.

*Only four seconds behind her was Jordan Hatfield tieing her best time with a 22:50.

*Our 7th varsity runner was Jenna McCullar finishing with a 23:39.

*Almost all of the girls that ran today ran their best times.

The ones that didn't were within a few seconds.  It was a great day for the girls team.  We are ranked 10th at the State Championships next weekend at Beeson Park in Kernersville, NC, but we have our sights on a 8th or 9th place finish.

Make sure you congratulate all of these runners when you see them.  They all did an excellent job!
